Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12). Day shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM (3x12). Night shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM (3x12). Rotation (days, nights, or combination) with assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; schedule changes based on staffing priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a BMT/oncology PCU and MS unit
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to promptly escalate concerns
- Administer and manage IV therapy, infusions, and blood products safely and per protocol
- Perform central line care, central line blood draws, and PICC line management with sterile technique
- Manage feeding tubes and support nutritional needs for complex oncology patients
- Support transplantation and CAR-T therapy care plans, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplant patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Social Work, Rapid Response) to optimize patient outcomes
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions to protect immunocompromised patients
- Document thoroughly in Epic to ensure continuity of care and compliance with facility standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-appropriate) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; must have at least 1 year of MS and oncology specialty experience within the most recent 3 years
- Travel nurse experience preferred — this role screens first-time travelers
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification preferred but not required
- Oncology certification and demonstrated Heme-Onc experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and telemetry interpretation
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias and rapid response utilization
- IV therapy, infusion pump management (Alaris pumps), and blood product administration
- Central line, implanted line and port care including accessing/managing ports
- PICC line management and peripheral line care
- Feeding tube care and management
- Strong infection prevention, isolation precautions and PPE use
- Experience with GE B450 telemetry system and other unit equipment (bladder scanner, Stryker beds)
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and ability to recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
