Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care in NICU and PICU settings, managing ventilators and noninvasive support to improve infant and pediatric outcomes
• Assess patients continuously and perform ABG analysis to guide clinical decisions
• Operate and optimize advanced equipment such as Servo U ventilators with NAVA, Avea, V60, Vapotherm, and HFNC systems
• Deliver airway clearance therapies including Vest CPT, Percussor CPT, MetaNeb, and cough assist techniques
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory plans
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes in patient status to the care team

Qualifications

• CRT or RRT required (RRT strongly preferred)
• Current Texas RCP license required
• BLS and ACLS required; NRP and PALS required for neonatal/pediatric coverage
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year PICU or Level 3/Level 4 NICU experience (posting indicates this as must-have experience)
• Comfortable working in high-acuity pediatric and neonatal environments and able to float voluntarily to adult units

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced ventilator modes (Servo U, NAVA, Avea)
• Noninvasive support including BiPAP and V60 systems
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) setup and blender operation
• Airway clearance techniques: Vest CPT, Percussor CPT, MetaNeb, cough assist, redbox IPV
• Nebulizer therapy and aerosol delivery
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and patient assessment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication in fast-paced units
