Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for obstetrics and labor and delivery patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using clinical assessment and fetal monitoring technology
• Collaborate with the obstetric team to support safe labor progression and timely interventions
• Respond rapidly and effectively to obstetric and neonatal emergencies
• Educate and support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary communication to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state-appropriate licensure required)
• Experience or background in Labor and Delivery or Obstetrics preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and participating in weekend rotations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred where applicable
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting, and excellent communication skills
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements, background checks, and immunization verification

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Fetal monitoring interpretation and labor support techniques
• Maternal and neonatal assessment and triage
• Emergency obstetric interventions and escalation protocols
• Patient and family education during labor and postpartum
• Clear, concise documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Teamwork and effective interdisciplinary communication
