Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on occupational therapy treatments under OT supervision to support patients' daily function and independence
- Implement individualized treatment plans, document progress, and adjust interventions with clinical reasoning
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home programs, and use of assistive devices
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Contribute to a positive, motivating environment that encourages patient progress and staff teamwork
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Active COTA license or eligibility in New Hampshire (or compact/reciprocal credentials as applicable)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient-centered care
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic activities, ADL retraining, and use of adaptive equipment
- Good clinical documentation and charting practices
- Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt techniques to individual patient needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and patient handling
