Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (overnight); varying weekends (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care for adult critical care patients, including ventilator management and weaning
- Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation and transport ventilators to ensure patient safety
- Administer and monitor high-flow oxygen therapies and other advanced respiratory devices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, nurses, and other therapists — to optimize patient outcomes
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes in patient status promptly
- Respond to emergent respiratory needs and participate in rapid response or code situations as needed
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory therapies and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (critical care experience preferred)
- Comfortable with night shifts and rotating weekend schedules
- NRP and ACCS are nice-to-have and will make your application stand out
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong mechanical ventilation skills (GE R860, Hamilton C1, etc.)
- Experience with transport ventilators (Newport HT70) and ventilator troubleshooting
- Proficiency with high flow oxygen devices (Vapotherm, Comfort Flow)
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR for documentation and charting
- Solid critical care knowledge and adult respiratory therapy best practices
- Ability to function in a fast-paced ICU environment and prioritize effectively
