Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to orthopedic surgery patients
• Assess and monitor patient condition, documenting changes and communicating with the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Assist with pre- and post-operative care and coordinate with surgical teams
• Educate patients and families on recovery plans, mobility, and wound care
• Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care to ensure smooth handoffs
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic charting and follow unit protocols
• Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered environment that prioritizes safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (orthopedic surgery experience preferred)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical/orthopedic environment
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented with strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic postoperative care and pain management
• Wound assessment and dressing care
• Patient assessment and clinical documentation
• IV therapy and medication administration
• Collaborative teamwork and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization in a surgical setting
