Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night). Includes weekend coverage — typically 6 weekend shifts per schedule (Fri/Sat/Sun).

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care for CVICU patients, including post-open-heart surgery recovery and complex cardiac support
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data to guide timely interventions
- Manage titratable drips and vasoactive medications safely and effectively
- Care for respiratory-dependent patients — ventilators, BIPAP, tracheostomy management and airway support
- Operate and collaborate on advanced therapies such as ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT and SLED
- Perform and assist with critical procedures (central lines, chest tubes, bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies)
- Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and patients’ families to ensure continuity of high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to practice in Texas or compact license as applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in critical care or CVICU (as stated in the posting)
- Hands-on experience with cardiac monitoring, titratable drips, and hemodynamic assessment
- Experience caring for ventilated and respiratory-compromised patients (ventilators, BIPAP, trachs, Airvo)
- Experience with advanced cardiac support (ECMO, Impella, balloon pumps) and CRRT/SLED strongly preferred
- Comfort working 12-hour night shifts and covering scheduled weekends
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a high-acuity environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — active RN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Hemodynamic assessment and titration of vasoactive infusions
- Management of ventilators, BIPAP, tracheostomy care and airway support
- Care of post-open-heart surgery patients and familiarity with cardiac surgical recovery needs
- Experience with ECMO systems, Impella devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
- CRRT and SLED operation knowledge (Prismax, Tablo familiarity a plus)
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR and bedside monitoring systems
