Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms closely to detect and respond to changes in condition
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults on telemetry
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate patients and families about condition, medications and discharge needs
- Respond quickly to clinical changes and escalate to providers when needed
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and ensure compliance with unit policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of assignment or compact license where applicable
- Telemetry experience required; prior experience on a cardiac/telemetry unit preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required depending on unit
- Current Basic nursing competencies and up to date immunizations and background checks
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
- Proficient in patient assessment and clinical decision making
- Comfortable with electronic health records and thorough documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- Time management and prioritization during 12-hour shifts
