Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric care for low- and high-risk pregnancies from admission through delivery
• Manage labor and delivery including routine vaginal births, operative deliveries and decision-making for Cesarean sections
• Perform Cesarean sections and manage intraoperative and postoperative care
• Care for VBACs and manage complex presentations such as breech, multiple births and abruptions
• Interpret fetal heart monitoring (NST/CST/FSE) and make timely clinical decisions
• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds (Level I/screening and viability assessments)
• Deliver surgical gynecology care including diagnostic and operative procedures when indicated
• Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations and provide high-quality postpartum care
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate effectively with nursing, midwifery and ancillary teams to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completion of an Obstetrics & Gynecology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (preferred)
• Active Ohio medical license or ability to obtain state licensure and complete credentialing (estimated 30–90 days)
• Proven experience in labor & delivery including Cesarean sections and VBAC management
• Competency in fetal heart monitoring/FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE) and Level I OB ultrasound interpretation
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR systems
• Current BLS and ACLS and demonstrated comfort working in a busy hospital-based L&D environment

Education

• MD or DO degree; completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Labor & Delivery management
• Skill in operative obstetrics and gynecologic surgical techniques (laparoscopic and open where applicable)
• Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpretation of NST/CST/FSE tracings
• Ability to perform and interpret Level I OB ultrasounds (screening/viability)
• Clear, calm decision-making in time-sensitive situations
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration with nurses, midwives and ancillary services
• Accurate, timely documentation and familiarity with EPIC workflows
