Shift Type: 10-hour day shifts (daytime schedule; exact start/end times vary by schedule), includes STEMI on-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response requirement

Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for referrals and patients, providing a welcoming and professional experience
- Attend patient consultations and perform initial examinations to gather accurate clinical information
- Perform patient assessments and communicate findings clearly to the interventional radiologist and care team
- Make informed recommendations to referring physicians, patients, and families under the guidance of the interventional radiologist
- Perform daily patient rounds and update the medical team on patient progress and procedural plans
- Assist and support interventional procedures in the cath lab/IR suite (IVUS, PCI, IABP insertions, etc.) with attention to sterile technique and patient safety
- Respond promptly to STEMI calls and urgent situations, meeting the 30-minute response requirement
- Maintain accurate documentation, comply with facility protocols, and support high-quality patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience (REQUIRED)
- Experience with heart caths, PCI, IABP insertions, STEMI call, IVUS/IFR and interventional radiology cases (REQUIRED)
- ARRT credential (REQUIRED) — RCIS will not be accepted
- ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) active at time of submission (REQUIRED)
- Active Illinois state license (verification must be less than 30 days old)
- COVID and Flu vaccinations required (no declinations will be approved) — please note vaccination status in submission
- Ability to meet a 30-minute call response time
- Submission documents: resume with all facilities listed, skills checklist (less than 1 year old), 2 supervisory references (completed within last year), and active certifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven competence in Cath Lab and interventional radiology procedures (PCI, IVUS, IFR, IABP)
- Strong patient assessment and medical communication skills — you explain and reassure with confidence
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR for documentation and orders
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma environment
- Ability to perform daily rounds and relay patient progress to multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort responding to STEMI calls and working effectively under urgent conditions
- Understanding of sterile technique, radiation safety, and cath lab equipment
