Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients regain independence
• Deliver therapeutic activities and exercises that support functional gains and daily living skills
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home programs, and safety strategies
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to facility policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Experience or interest in working in a rehabilitation setting (Uptown Rehab environment)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients and families
• Ability to follow treatment plans, document thoroughly, and work collaboratively with a care team
• Current BLS/CPR certification if required by the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational knowledge of occupational therapy principles and therapeutic activities
• Skill in assisting with ADL training, adaptive equipment, and mobility support
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and basic outcome measurement
• Ability to safely assist patients with transfers and positioning
• Teamwork mindset and good time-management skills in a rehab setting
