Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to critically ill patients in a 5-bed ICU, delivering high-quality, compassionate care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans based on physician orders and standards of care
• Support post-operative recovery for general surgery, pediatric and OB patients during after-hours as needed
• Float to Emergency Department, Med/Surg or Pediatrics when census requires, maintaining safe continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members — physicians, therapists and support staff — to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies, procedures and clinical guidelines
• Act independently and responsibly in completing nursing assignments while escalating concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) valid in any U.S. state, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory
• Minimum 3 years prior ICU nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (current)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association (current)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — American Heart Association (must be completed within 6 months of hire if not current)
• Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) — must be completed within 6 months of hire if not current
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) training — must be completed within 6 months of hire if not current
• Ability and willingness to float to ED, Med/Surg and Pediatrics as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and patient assessment
• ICU workflows and post-operative recovery care
• Experience with diverse inpatient populations (adult, pediatric, OB as applicable)
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently
• Effective communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment
• Comfort working in a small regional hospital and adapting to changing census/demands
• Familiarity with emergency and medical-surgical settings from float experience
