Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, patient-centered care for med/surg/telemetry patients, maintaining safety and dignity
• Monitor telemetry and interpret EKG data to detect and escalate critical changes
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy with accuracy and clinical judgment
• Perform and manage urinary catheter and central line care and maintenance
• Document clearly and completely in the EHR (Meditech) to ensure continuity of care
• Manage an assigned patient load of up to 4-6 patients while prioritizing patient needs
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members and families
• Participate in unit routines, handoffs, and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN certification/licensure (registered nurse required)
• Minimum 1 year acute med/surg/telemetry experience within the last year (required)
• Ability to safely care for 4-6 patients at a time and manage competing priorities
• Experience with telemetry patients and EKG interpretation
• Meditech EHR experience is a plus
• Preferred: 2+ years telemetry experience including PCI and CABG POD 2

Education

• Education not specified in posting; valid RN certification/licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and alarm recognition
• EKG interpretation and cardiac post-op care knowledge
• Medication administration best practices and IV insertion skills
• Urinary catheter and central line maintenance
• Strong EHR documentation skills (Meditech)
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy
