Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering skilled rehabilitation to skilled nursing residents
• Provide safe and effective therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, balance, and function
• Lead individualized exercise programs and document resident progress clearly and professionally
• Collaborate with nursing and therapy team members to support resident-centered care plans
• Educate residents and family members on safe home programs and fall prevention strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active or eligible California Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Associate degree or accredited PTA program completion
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience or strong interest in skilled nursing/geriatric rehabilitation
• Good communication skills and comfort working in an interdisciplinary team
• Reliable professional references and clean background screening

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of therapeutic exercise, range of motion, gait training, and transfers
• Skilled in patient assessment, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment use
• Knowledge of documentation best practices and electronic health records
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills
