Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on orthopedic support in an outpatient setting, assisting clinicians with patient care and procedures
• Prepare and fit orthoses, braces, and durable medical equipment with accuracy and attention to comfort
• Document patient encounters and clinical interventions in EPIC in a timely, professional manner
• Float between Tarzana and Mission Hills locations as needed to cover call-outs and maintain continuity of care
• Educate patients and caregivers on device use, home care, and safe mobility strategies
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and clean treatment areas to ensure safe, efficient clinic operations
• Collaborate proactively with therapists, physicians, and administrative staff to optimize patient flow and outcomes

Qualifications

• NBCOT certification required — candidates must be certified through NBCOT
• Minimum 2 years of relevant outpatient orthopedic technician experience
• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic health record charting systems
• Ability and willingness to float between clinic locations (Tarzana and Mission Hills)
• Pending state license is not accepted; hold any required active state license or credential
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of orthopedic technician or related clinical program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC charting and accurate clinical documentation
• Skilled in orthotic fitting, splinting techniques, and basic DME set-up
• Knowledge of outpatient orthopedic workflows and patient education best practices
• Strong infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with patients of varied ages and needs
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic while maintaining attention to detail
