Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process — evaluate, plan, implement and reassess for safe, effective care
• Provide direct patient care on the telemetry unit, with vigilant cardiac monitoring
• Interpret telemetry and promptly communicate clinical changes to physicians
• Deliver patient and family education to support recovery and self-care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to maintain standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly and professionally

Qualifications

• Current and valid State Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to practice in CA preferred/required)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Experience with Meditech required (Epic transition upcoming — Epic experience a plus)
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist and Prime Specialty Exam
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and the nursing process
• Direct patient care and telemetry monitoring
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and response
• Meditech electronic health record proficiency
• Basic and advanced life support (BLS, ACLS)
• Familiarity with ventilator management
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced telemetry unit
