Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to PCU patients during the night shift
- Assess and monitor patient condition, interpret telemetry and vital sign trends, and act promptly on changes
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document interventions in the patient record
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Perform thorough admission, transfer and discharge processes to support safe transitions of care
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatments and discharge plans in a clear, caring way
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
- Mentor and support colleagues as part of a collegial and patient-focused team
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado (or compact license where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience (PCU, telemetry, or acute care preferred)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged
- Current clinical skills in assessment, medication administration, and telemetry monitoring
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms and working with telemetry-monitored patients
- Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
- Skilled documentation practices and care coordination
- Ability to prioritize, triage, and escalate concerns in an acute care environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality care
