Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe, efficient perioperative care as the circulating nurse in the operating room
• Maintain aseptic technique and the sterile environment for every case
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs and provide instruments and supplies promptly
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort through handoffs and perioperative communication
• Document perioperative care, counts, and patient status clearly and accurately
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical techs, and other OR staff to keep cases on track
• Adapt to variable case start/stop times while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Peri-Op 101 Certification (required)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS (required)
• CNOR (preferred)
• Proven independence in Urology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Pain management, Spine, Eyes and Plastics service lines
• Comfort working variable start/stop times on weekdays and collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and OR circulation best practices
• Case flow management and surgical instrumentation familiarity
• Strong sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Clear perioperative documentation and time-out/count procedures
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-stakes surgical settings
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and case demands
