Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents in the Mercy LIFE program
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with policies
- Monitor and document vital signs, clinical changes, and resident responses
- Perform and document required Trinity specialty competency tasks and skills checklist
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
- Maintain strict infection control, safety, and documentation standards
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure continuity of care
- Complete required health screenings, drug screens, and vaccination documentation promptly
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) credential — active and verifiable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Successful completion of License/Certificate Verification and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
- Ability to pass Trinity Color Vision, 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon), and Trinity 10-panel drug screen
- Up-to-date immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, and annual influenza as required
- Comfortable working in a per diem/pool model and adapting to varying schedules
Education
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing (LPN/LVN) program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
- Skilled in infection control and standard precautions
- Good critical thinking and the ability to escalate changes in condition appropriately
- Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary care teams
- Ability to complete competency-based checklists and specialty testing
