Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including rounds and clinic coverage
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and other advanced GI procedures, with attention to patient safety
- Collaborate closely with APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across settings
- Participate in the hospital-owned endoscopy center and outpatient clinic workflows to ensure continuity of care
- Engage in teaching and mentoring through the GME program for those interested in academic involvement
- Apply and uphold quality metrics and best practices to improve patient outcomes
- Complete credentialing and privileging requirements and maintain certification status
- Contribute to the division’s growth and service excellence through thoughtful clinical practice and teamwork
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (Board Eligible candidates must obtain Board Certification within one year)
- ERCP certification required
- Preferred: 5–8 years of post-fellowship GI clinical experience (excluding residency/fellowship)
- Successful completion of credentialing/privileging as required by the employer
- COVID vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious exemption is granted
- Open to H-1B candidates only (J-1 not accepted); position is not open to 1099 contractors or locum/locum-to-perm candidates
- Must maintain certification status and meet ongoing employment health screening requirements
Education
- MD or DO with completion of Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology (as noted above)
- ERCP certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in gastroenterology, endoscopy, and ERCP procedures
- Strong clinical patient care skills across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Ability to perform clinic procedures and manage ambulatory patient flow
- Experience working collaboratively with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- Familiarity with quality metrics, productivity measures (wRVU), and clinical performance tracking
- Comfort participating in teaching and academic activities within a GME program
- Familiarity or interest in industry best practices (ITIL/PMP preferred) and organizational operations
- Effective communication and teamwork skills within a multi-site health system
