Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the pediatric hospitalist team as the Medical Director, shaping care delivery and clinical standards
- Provide excellent inpatient pediatric care and manage hospital rounds for medical patients
- Consult on pediatric patients in the emergency department and on surgical patients as needed
- Manage on-call coverage and ensure timely, high-quality responses while on call from home
- Foster collaboration with the sister program at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for shared consultations
- Develop and support teaching efforts through an opportunity for faculty appointment with Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, mentor clinicians, and contribute to leadership training
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of prior leadership experience (required)
- Experience in inpatient pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine
- Comfort consulting in emergency department and surgical settings
- Willingness to collaborate with regional partners and participate in inter-hospital consultation
- J-1 visa candidates accepted (Not accepting Locums candidates)
- Ability to obtain or hold an active Idaho medical license and hospital credentials
Education
- MD or DO (physician degree) with training in Pediatrics; board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics expected
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills in pediatric patient care and inpatient pediatrics
- Experience with emergency department pediatric consultations and surgical consults
- Effective hospital rounding practices and on-call management
- Clinical leadership, team-building, and faculty-style teaching experience
- Comfort with interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring of staff
