Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and provide clinical oversight for the Maternal Fetal Medicine practice as Medical Director
• Deliver high-quality consultative MFM care across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Collaborate closely with Pediatrix-affiliated neonatologists in a Level 3 NICU to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Use EPIC and Viewpoint effectively to document care and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide clinical leadership and contribute to practice development, quality improvement, and peer collaboration
• Participate in faculty/physician mentorship and support a collegial, consultative practice culture

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (current, not lapsed) — required
• MD or DO with completed residency and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship
• Active or eligible medical license for Virginia (VA) required
• Experience with EPIC and Viewpoint electronic health record systems
• Comfort working in a consult-only MFM model covering both inpatient and outpatient care
• Prior leadership or clinical management experience preferred
• Willingness to reside within the immediate local area (not open to candidates commuting >1 hour)
• Not open to Locum Tenens, 1099, or visa sponsorship candidates

Education

• MD or DO with Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship (Board certification required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and high-risk obstetrics
• Strong consultative and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience collaborating with neonatology and Level 3 NICU teams
• Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient workflows
• Proficiency in EPIC and Viewpoint clinical systems
• Leadership, communication, and team-building abilities
