Shift Type: PRN day shifts; option for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours). Days per week vary by location (examples in posting: 1 day/week, 2 days/week, 0.5 days/week). Specific start and end times vary by site and will be scheduled by VES; day-shift coverage only.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with care and professionalism
- Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations and targeted physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Prepare clear, timely medical documentation and exam reports, including any required addendums
- Review diagnostic information and provide objective medical opinions when requested
- Maintain required training, credentialing, and compliance with VES onboarding processes
- Communicate respectfully and compassionately with Veterans, families, and the VES team
Qualifications
- MD or DO (or equivalent physician qualification) in good standing
- Board certification or practice background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine experience accepted
- Current, unrestricted state medical license for the state(s) where you will practice; ability to meet local credentialing requirements
- Experience or familiarity with Compensation & Pension exams is strongly preferred
- Reliable access to an office within the required mileage radius if selecting the provider-owned office option
- Ability to complete required training and onboarding prior to patient exams
Education
- MD or DO (or equivalent professional medical degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical interviewing and patient evaluation skills
- Competence in focused physical assessment including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Clear and concise medical documentation and report-writing ability
- Ability to interpret diagnostics and synthesize medical opinions when needed
- Professional communication skills and sensitivity when working with Veterans
- Organizational skills to manage PRN schedules and timely administrative follow-up
