Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based treatment to adult patients in a correctional mental health setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and update clinical documentation in the patient record
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, crisis intervention, and risk assessments as needed
- Collaborate with custody staff and a multidisciplinary clinical team to coordinate care and ensure safety
- Participate in orientation and training sessions; mentor and support junior clinicians when appropriate
- Contribute to program quality improvement, clinical policy development, and case consultation
Qualifications
- Active California license in one of the following: Psychologist (PSY), LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC
- Clinical experience working with adult populations; correctional or forensic experience is a strong plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility security clearance requirements
- Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) for Psychologist or Master's degree for LMFT/LCSW/LPCC as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in psychological assessment and diagnosis
- Skilled in individual and group psychotherapy and crisis intervention
- Knowledge of evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
- Familiarity with risk assessment, safety planning, and suicidality interventions
- Competence in clinical documentation, confidentiality, and ethical practice
- Cultural humility and ability to work with diverse patient populations
