Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and document patient nutritional status, needs, and goals
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
- Provide patient and family education on therapeutic diets and lifestyle adjustments
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
- Monitor and adjust meal plans and interventions based on patient response
- Accurately document interventions and outcomes in the EHR
- Participate in quality improvement activities and support registry coverage for vacancies
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
- Active California dietitian license or eligibility to obtain licensure in CA
- Clinical experience in acute or long-term care settings preferred
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Current BLS/CPR preferred
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship preferred
- Master's degree in Nutrition or related field is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical nutrition assessment and therapeutic diet planning
- Malnutrition screening and intervention strategies
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Nutrition education techniques for patients and families
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
- Time management and prioritization in a clinical setting
