Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and sterile field with precision and attention to detail
• Pass instruments and supplies efficiently during surgical procedures to support smooth workflow
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow infection prevention protocols at all times
• Anticipate surgeon needs and proactively manage instrumentation and supplies
• Assist in setup, breakdown, and turnover of cases to maximize OR throughput
• Document case information accurately and communicate clearly with the perioperative team

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent clinical training
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtainable upon hire
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or actively pursuing certification
• Prior experience in a hospital or surgical setting is highly valued
• Strong knowledge of sterile practices, instrument names, and OR protocols
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and ability to perform under pressure

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or associate degree in Surgical Technology
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in sterile technique and aseptic practices
• Familiarity with common surgical instruments, trays, and sterilization processes
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and manage instrument flow
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and collaboration with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia providers
• Comfort working in a fast-paced operating room environment
