Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments so each case runs smoothly
Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure all supplies and instruments are accounted for
Anticipate surgeon needs and hand instruments efficiently and safely
Participate fully in orientation and unit onboarding to learn site-specific workflows
Perform sponge/instrument counts and document accurately to support patient safety
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia to create a calm, efficient OR environment
Clean, restock, and maintain equipment to uphold high standards of care

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
Previous operating room experience preferred; strong ability to work in a fast-paced OR
Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent certificate
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Proven knowledge of sterile technique and infection control principles
Familiarity with common surgical instruments, instrumentation sets, and procedure workflows
Ability to perform accurate counts and document perioperative processes
Strong interpersonal skills for working in multidisciplinary teams
Comfort with basic electronic documentation and supply management systems
