Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms closely to detect and respond to changes in condition
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults on telemetry
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about condition, medications and discharge needs
• Respond quickly to clinical changes and escalate to providers when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and ensure compliance with unit policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of assignment or compact license where applicable
• Telemetry experience required; prior experience on a cardiac/telemetry unit preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required depending on unit
• Current Basic nursing competencies and up to date immunizations and background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
• Proficient in patient assessment and clinical decision making
• Comfortable with electronic health records and thorough documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Time management and prioritization during 12-hour shifts
