Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive-communication and speech abilities
• Lead and guide delivery of speech-language pathology and audiology services across the facility
• Provide evidence-based swallowing therapy to reduce aspiration risk and improve safety
• Deliver cognitive-communication therapy to help residents reconnect and engage
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident-centered care
• Document assessments, progress notes and treatment plans in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Educate residents, families and staff on communication strategies and therapy goals
• Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state and federal guidelines in all SLP practices

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of SLP experience (required at time of submission)
• Active Texas SLP license or eligibility via compact (required)
• Proven ability to develop and implement treatment plans for swallowing and communication disorders
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Comfortable leading and directing SLP/audiology services in a facility setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in swallowing therapy and aspiration risk reduction
• Experience with cognitive-communication assessments and therapy
• Treatment planning and progress measurement expertise
• Working knowledge of audiology services in a long-term care setting
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and facility policies
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and rehab teams
