Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming—with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments and follow infection control procedures
• Document care and observations clearly and promptly in patient records
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families, providing comfort and practical assistance
• Collaborate with nurses and care team members to deliver coordinated patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain)
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings
• Comfortable assisting with lifting and physical patient care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
• Vital signs measurement and basic patient assessment
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Infection prevention and basic wound care awareness
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• HIPAA-compliant communication and patient privacy knowledge
• Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
