Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and evaluate pediatric patients' respiratory status and needs
Administer respiratory therapies and manage ventilator settings as appropriate
Monitor patient responses and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
Educate families and caregivers on respiratory care plans and equipment use
Document patient care, treatment changes, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute clinical expertise
Support patient safety initiatives and adhere to infection control standards

Qualifications

Current Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT) or equivalent
Active Ohio state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure quickly
BLS certification required; pediatric advanced certifications preferred
Experience or comfort working with pediatric patients preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and clinical teams

Education

Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical expertise in respiratory assessment and therapeutic interventions
Familiarity with ventilator management and neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment
Ability to interpret blood gases and adjust care accordingly
Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient/family education skills
