Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Stabilize patients using evidence-based interventions and sound clinical judgment
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Support department flow by prioritizing care, communicating needs, and assisting with admissions/transfers

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Alabama (or Compact RN license as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred but enthusiastic new grads with strong emergency training are welcome to apply
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
• Strong critical thinking, triage, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of emergency nursing principles and triage processes
• Comfortable with rapid assessment, IV therapy, wound care, and acute interventions
• Proficient with electronic medical record charting and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams
• Calm under pressure with strong prioritization and time-management abilities
