Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for Med/Surg/Telemetry patients, managing up to 4-6 patients per nurse
• Perform standard nursing procedures including IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, and central line maintenance
• Administer medications safely and accurately, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition in a timely manner
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the Meditech EHR
• Support a positive unit culture by communicating clearly, mentoring peers, and participating in safe handoffs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year acute Med/Surg experience within the last year (must-have)
• Comfort and ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and Meditech EHR
• Current BLS (and other facility-required certifications as applicable)
• Preferred: 2+ years acute Med/Surg within the last year, or background in Ortho or Neuro-surgery; Med/Surg/Telemetry background is a strong plus

Education

• Active RN licensure required

• IV insertion and central line maintenance skills
• Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
• Strong medication administration practices and safety awareness
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment and adapt to changing census
