Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and patient vitals closely to detect changes early
• Perform focused assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Respond promptly to telemetry alarms and collaborate on interventions
• Administer medications and follow physician orders with accuracy and safety
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes in the electronic record
• Provide compassionate patient and family teaching about cardiac care
• Maintain compliance with unit protocols, infection control and safety standards
• Participate in skills validation, competency exams and ongoing education

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — ability to verify via Nursys or state board
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CPI and DCI/BVP listed as required or strongly preferred
• Telemetry monitoring experience and comfort with cardiac rhythm recognition
• Successful completion of drug screening, immunizations and health screenings per facility requirements
• Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist and specialty exam

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and patient monitoring skills
• EKG rhythm recognition and basic arrhythmia interpretation
• Proficient clinical assessment and bedside nursing care
• Clear communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Excellent documentation and time management skills
• Comfort using electronic health record systems and monitoring equipment
