Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor step-down patients, recognizing changes in condition quickly
Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity
Document assessments, interventions, and responses in the patient record thoroughly
Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate care when needed
Support transitions of care, including handoffs and discharge planning

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
Comfort and experience with step-down or telemetry nursing strongly preferred
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
Solid assessment skills for managing higher-acuity patients
Familiarity with EMR documentation and clinical workflows
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
