Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 5-hour shift (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed by facility) — RN - Pre-op (Peds); orientation included

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess pediatric patients in the pre-operative setting and document findings clearly
Prepare patients and families for procedures, providing education and reassurance
Coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth transfers
Administer pre-op medications and follow established protocols
Maintain accurate pre-op documentation and communicate status updates to the care team
Support a safe, child-friendly environment and advocate for patient comfort

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington (required)
Experience or comfort working with pediatric patients and families
Familiarity with pre-operative nursing processes and protocols
Current BLS; PALS preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Ability to pass facility orientation and any required background checks

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate care techniques
Pre-op patient preparation and medication administration
Comfortable educating and calming children and caregivers
Effective documentation and electronic charting skills
Teamwork and clear handoff/communication practices
