Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, expert nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Monitor patient status closely, interpret data, and intervene promptly to stabilize condition
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapists, and families—to develop and execute care plans
Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately, following facility protocols
Educate and support families during stressful times with clear communication and empathy
Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Active RN license in California (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Experience in PICU nursing preferred; comfort with pediatric critical care environments
Current BLS and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Strong clinical assessment and IV/medication administration skills
Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding/orientation

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pediatric critical care practices and protocols
Skill in monitoring ventilators, hemodynamic support, and advanced pediatric interventions
Excellent communication and teamwork in high-stress situations
Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation standards
Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize rapidly changing needs
