Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, expert pediatric critical care in the PICU setting
Monitor, assess, and document patient condition and respond to changes
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team
Participate in family-centered care and communicate clinical updates clearly
Assist in orientation and mentoring of new staff to help build a strong team
Ensure accurate charting and adherence to hospital policies and quality standards

Qualifications

Active RN license (Ohio) or eligibility to obtain state licensure
Experience caring for critically ill pediatric patients in a PICU environment
Current BLS certification required; PALS required or strongly preferred
Comfort with critical care skills such as ventilator management and titratable drips
Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment skills
Ability to complete required orientation program as indicated

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN considered with relevant PICU experience
Current RN license and required certifications (BLS, PALS)

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric critical care knowledge and familiarity with PICU protocols
Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and IV therapies
Proficient with electronic medical records and clear documentation
Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in fast-paced situations
Excellent family-centered communication and patient advocacy
