Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously monitor and assess patient status, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social work to deliver family-centered care
• Document thoroughly and maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records
• Support and educate families through difficult and complex care situations with empathy and clarity
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and contribute to best-practice care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Ohio
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required or enrollment supported
• Previous experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit preferred
• Critical thinking, strong assessment skills, and the ability to act decisively in urgent situations
• Ability to pass standard background and health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric critical care principles and protocols
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems and accurate documentation practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for working with families and interdisciplinary teams
