Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously assess patient status and implement appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting thoroughly
• Operate and monitor advanced life-support and bedside equipment with precision
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with families, keeping them informed and supported
• Participate actively in orientation and unit-based education to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (Ohio license or compact RN eligible) required
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort with critical care skills: ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, infusion therapies
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork mindset, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to complete required orientation prior to independent assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and bedside assessments
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and central line care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
• Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving and situational awareness
