Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating weekends and holidays per unit schedule

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to adult patients in a fast-paced PCU unit
Monitor cardiac and stroke patients, titrate drips including Heparin and insulin
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently
Interpret telemetry readings and respond to changes in patient condition

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU experience preferred
Must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with 90% or higher
Valid driver's license required for radius rule verification

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in PCU nursing and cardiac/stroke patient care
Proficiency in titrating intravenous medications
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively in a high-flow unit with frequent admissions and discharges
Team-oriented attitude with a positive mindset
