Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend, self-scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology and PCU patients in a mixed medical-surgical unit
Monitor and manage common drips including chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and insulin
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and educators
Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed to support team coverage
Perform hourly rounding and patient education to enhance patient experience
Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and communication

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent PCU and/or oncology nursing experience
First-time travelers welcome
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
Valid driver's license (required for submittal)
Willingness to pass a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation with 90% score

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring
Ability to titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem
Comfortable with ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000) - training available
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Adaptable to a fast-paced, culturally diverse patient population
