Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every 3rd weekend and holiday required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care for MedSurg and ER patients, including swing bed rehab, pain management, pneumonia, hypertensive crisis, bowel obstruction, and cardiac cases
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining accurate documentation
Titrate medications and manage IV drips such as insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs, care for PICC/Ports, and perform EKGs with telemetry monitoring
Participate in codes (cardiorespiratory, stroke, sepsis) and respond to traumas
Float seamlessly between MedSurg unit and Emergency Department as needed

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
Ability to work independently with minimal staff and communicate effectively with hospitalists
Comfortable handling critical/trauma patients and arranging transfers to higher level of care

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in IV start, titration of medications, and care of PICC/Ports
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and flight transport procedures
Experience with Meditech EMR
Ability to read own tele strips and document accordingly
