Location: Kearney, Nebraska

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend, minimum 2 holidays per contract

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adults in a 40-bed PCU, managing cardiac, medical-surgical, and stroke patients
Titrate critical drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Monitor telemetry strips, interpret rhythms, and respond to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal outcomes
Float to MedSurg or ICU to support PCU-acuity patients as needed
Participate in open-book exams to demonstrate competency and commitment to learning

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Experience with arterial lines and competent in titrating critical drips
Minimum 1 year of PCU or step-down experience preferred
Driver's license required at submittal (for radius verification)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to interpret telemetry strips independently
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Cultural competence to care for diverse populations including Hispanic and Somalian communities
