Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM or 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to neuro acute patients, including those with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, and spinal surgeries
Monitor telemetry and detect subtle changes in patient conditions
Perform and assist with Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and maintain sterile field
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists
Float to MS/Tele units as needed, possibly to other campuses

Qualifications

MINIMUM 2 years of recent RN experience
Level 1 Trauma experience required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
BSN preferred; Med Surg/Tele certification preferred
Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
Must have own vehicle for travel teams
Natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit test

Education

BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
Proficient in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes with sterile technique
Telemetry monitoring experience
Ability to assess cranial nerves and detect small changes in patients
