Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, managing conditions like CHF, COPD, diabetes, and post-operative recovery
• Monitor cardiac telemetry rhythms and interpret strips for abnormal findings
• Titrate intravenous drips including Heparin and Cardizem as ordered, up to specified limits
• Collaborate with charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and educate patients and families on treatment plans
• Float to other units as needed to support hospital staffing requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care (med-surg or telemetry)
• Active RN license in Washington or a compact state (Compact License accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and drip titration is required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in caring for medical-surgical overflow patients with diverse diagnoses
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips (pending approval of position)
• Skilled in managing heparin and Cardizem drips
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with CNAs and techs
• Comfortable with palliative and end-of-life care
