Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Continuously monitor and assess patient vitals and recovery status
Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical, and perioperative teams to ensure safe handoffs
Administer medications and document all care accurately and timely
Educate families about recovery expectations and provide clear discharge instructions
Participate in orientation, training, and unit process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible to obtain licensure in Missouri
Experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and pediatric patient care preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced perioperative setting
Excellent communication and family-centered care skills
Ability to participate in orientation and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams

Education

Nursing degree (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia monitoring and PACU recovery protocols
Pediatric patient care principles and family-centered communication
Medication administration, IV management, and documentation best practices
Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation proficiency
Rapid assessment and prioritization under time-sensitive conditions
Interdisciplinary teamwork and clear clinical handoff techniques
