Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and recovery progression closely
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team for safe handoffs
Prepare accurate, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient status
Educate caregivers and families on postoperative care, discharge criteria, and follow-up
Participate in orientation and unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact RN eligibility
Experience in PACU and pediatric patient care preferred
Current BLS required; PALS preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize care
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric postoperative assessment and monitoring
Airway management and recovery from anesthesia
Safe medication administration and IV therapy
Pain assessment and pediatric pain management techniques
Accurate clinical documentation and electronic health record familiarity
Family-centered care and clear caregiver communication
