Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, post-operative orthopedic nursing care to surgical and trauma patients
• Independently manage an assigned caseload of up to 5 patients, prioritizing safety and quality
• Perform dressing changes and aspirations safely and according to unit protocols
• Assess patients, monitor status changes, and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate handoffs clearly
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists and care partners to support excellent patient outcomes
• Support pain management plans and administer medications per orders to promote recovery

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (as stated)
• Experience working on a surgical unit; orthopedic surgery experience preferred
• Ability to independently manage a 5-patient assignment (must-have)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred or demonstrated electronic charting experience
• Positive attitude and proven ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced unit

• Meditech EMR documentation and electronic charting
• Dressing changes and wound care
• Aspiration procedures and post-op monitoring
• Orthopedic surgery patient care and post-operative recovery principles
• Pain management techniques and medication administration
• Strong communication, prioritization and teamwork skills

This is a travel assignment in the Denver/Englewood area, a great home base for outdoor adventure and city life.
