Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room
Prepare the OR and ensure sterile technique, instruments, and supplies are ready
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team for safe procedures
Continuously monitor patient status and intervene promptly as needed
Educate and support families before, during, and after surgical care with compassion
Accurately document perioperative assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Participate in orientation, precepting, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact RN eligible
Experience or strong interest in pediatric operating room nursing
Current BLS certification; PALS preferred
Familiarity with perioperative standards, sterile technique, and OR workflows
Ability to pass standard background and health screenings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment skills and age-appropriate communication
Proficiency in sterile technique and intraoperative patient care
Competence with IV medication administration and intraoperative monitoring
Excellent teamwork, situational awareness, and clear communication
Comfortable with clinical documentation and handoff processes
